Komodo tour packages from Labuan Bajo come in seven versions with us, from a one-day speedboat trip at IDR 1,450,000 (about $81) per person to a four-day private phinisi. The usual choice for a first visit is the three-day shared liveaboard, from IDR 6,000,000 (about $336) per person. Every package starts at Labuan Bajo harbour except the Lombok crossing, which also runs from Lombok, and park fees and flights are extra on all of them.

Which package fits the days you have

With one day, take the speedboat day trip. It covers Padar, Pink Beach, the ranger walk on Komodo Island, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Turtle Bay, with hotel pickup at 06:30 and lunch included. It reaches Padar at 08:15, so there is no sunrise from the top.

With two days, the only package is the Akassa for one night, and it is a whole-boat booking. It gets the bats at Kalong at dusk and Padar before sunrise.

Four days gives two choices. One is the Lombok crossing further down this page. The other is the Akassa charter, which keeps going north to Gili Lawa Darat for a 30-minute climb, spends an afternoon on the reefs at Sebayur and Kanawa and ends at Rangko Cave, a flooded limestone chamber you swim in.

Three days is what most first-time visitors book. The second night buys a quieter reef and a spare half day if the sea closes one morning. If you are unsure how long to stay, our guide to how many days in Labuan Bajo works through it.

Labuan Bajo, Flores

The usual first Komodo trip

Three days on the Ballona or the Elbark: Padar twice, the dragons at Loh Liang, Pink Beach, Manta Point and the bats at Kalong. Meals, snorkel gear and transfers included.

The 3D2N Komodo tour package, day by day

Day one starts with pickup at 08:30 and a first snorkel at Sebayur or Siaba around 10:00. The boat reaches the Taka Makassar sandbar at 13:30 and Manta Point at 15:00, climbs Padar at golden hour from 16:30 and anchors off Kalong at 18:30, when the fruit bats leave the mangroves.

Day two is the long one. The wake call is at 04:30 and you are on the Padar path at 05:00, then back aboard for breakfast by 08:00. Pink Beach follows at 09:30, the ranger walk at Loh Liang at 11:00 and the reef at Pengah at 14:00. From 16:00 the paddleboard and the canoe are out.

Day three is short: Kelor at 07:30 for a last view, a snorkel in the shallows at Manjarite at 09:00 and the harbour between 11:00 and 12:00. The Padar climb takes 30 to 45 minutes each way on rocky, uneven ground, and it is the hardest thing in any of the seven packages. Our Padar Island guide describes the path.

What a Komodo tour package costs in total

The package price is not the whole bill. On the day trip, add about IDR 400,000 in park fees to the IDR 1,450,000 fare, so a foreign visitor pays about IDR 1,850,000 before tips. On a three-day boat the usual quote for park fees is about IDR 650,000 per foreign visitor, which puts the cheapest berth at about IDR 6,650,000 all in.

Children get 25% off the day trip and the Ballona and Elbark trip, and infants travel free. Flying a drone needs a park permit of IDR 2,000,000 per drone per day, applied for through SiOra, so tell us a week ahead. Flights, a hotel night before the boat, alcohol and crew tips are the costs that remain.

Labuan Bajo, Flores

Komodo in a single day

Six stops by speedboat between 06:30 and 17:00, with the ranger walk on Komodo Island, three snorkel stops, lunch and hotel pickup.

What the packages include

Every overnight package includes the cabin, all meals, drinking water, coffee and tea, snorkel gear, an English-speaking guide and pickup from your hotel or the airport. The day trip includes hotel pickup, lunch, snorkel gear and a towel, with one guide for every ten guests.

No package includes Komodo National Park fees. Foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 per person per day, plus a harbour fee and a ranger fee shared by the group. On the day trip that comes to about IDR 400,000 for a foreign visitor and about IDR 200,000 for an Indonesian citizen, paid in cash. Our Komodo trip cost breakdown adds flights and a hotel night to the sum.

Book the park slot with the package

Since 1 April 2026 the park admits 1,000 visitors a day, and every ticket is booked ahead against a dated slot in SiOra. We file it with your booking, so send passport details two to three days before you sail.

Who each package is wrong for

The day trip is a fast day: six stops in about ten hours, with 35 minutes to an hour and a half at each. Skip it if you want Padar at sunrise or dislike a bumpy ride home, because the speedboat crossing gets rough once the afternoon wind picks up. Our piece on whether Komodo is worth it weighs the day trip against a night on board.

The three-day boats ask for a 04:30 start on day two and a steep climb straight after it. The Lombok crossing is the wrong boat for anyone prone to seasickness, since the Sape Strait alone is about five hours of open water. A private boat rarely makes sense for two people, because the price is the same for two as for five.

What happens when the weather turns

The dry season runs from April to November, and the sea is usually calm then. Rain or cloud does not cancel a trip. The call belongs to the harbour master in Labuan Bajo, who stops boats when high waves are forecast, as happened for a few days at a time in late July, early August and twice in September 2026.

If a sailing permit is refused on the Ballona and Elbark trip, we move your dates or refund the boat part of the price. On a boat already out in the park, the captain reorders the stops and swaps an exposed site for a sheltered one.

The package that does not come back to Labuan Bajo

The four-day boat to Lombok spends two days in the park, then crosses to Sumbawa for the whale sharks at Teluk Saleh, the crater lake on Satonda and the waterfall on Moyo, and ends in the Gili Islands or at Bangsal. It sails in both directions, roughly twice a month in season. Two of its four days are open-water crossings, so pack motion-sickness tablets.

It sails a set route on a 34-metre hull with 20 to 25 guests, and the whale sharks are wild, so no morning is guaranteed. Our guide to the Komodo tour from Lombok covers the reverse direction and what the crossing feels like.

How booking and payment work

The Ballona and Elbark trip can be booked on its tour page for any day at least two days ahead. A 50% deposit confirms the cabin and the rest is due 14 days before departure. The Akassa boats take a 30% deposit with the balance 14 days out, and refund nothing inside two months of sailing.

The day trip is the forgiving one: cancel 30 days or more ahead for a full refund, or 15 days or more ahead for a 20% fee. You pay by card or PayPal, or by bank transfer through Wise, and transfer fees are the sender's. Every tour page lists its own terms before you pay.

How to choose and book

Decide the number of days first, then shared or private. The hour-by-hour timetables for the day trip and the three-day trip are in our Komodo island tour guide. When you have a date, send it to us and we will confirm the boat, the cabin and the park slot together.

From IDR 1,450,000 (about $81) per person for a one-day speedboat trip, and from IDR 6,000,000 (about $336) per person for three days on a shared phinisi. Private boats start at IDR 45,000,000 per boat. Park fees and flights are extra on every package.

Which Komodo tour package is best for a first visit?

Is there a 2 day 1 night Komodo tour package?

Yes, as a private boat. The Akassa sails two days and one night for IDR 56,500,000 with up to four guests, or IDR 64,000,000 for five to ten. It is the shortest package that catches both the bats at Kalong at dusk and Padar before sunrise.

No. Komodo National Park fees are paid on top of every package. Foreign visitors pay IDR 250,000 per person per day, plus a harbour fee and a shared ranger fee. On the day trip the total is about IDR 400,000 for a foreign visitor, paid in cash.
