A Labengki Sombori tour starts in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, and runs three to six days. With six travellers sharing, our packages cost from IDR 4,100,000 (about $230) per person for three days to IDR 6,395,000 for six, with the boat, simple rooms on Labengki, three meals a day and entrance fees included.
These are private trips, so the rate per person rises as the group shrinks. Two people pay IDR 7,150,000 each for the same three days. Prices are from our tour pages in October 2026.

The boat, the fuel, the crew and the guide cost the same for one person as for six, which is why two travellers pay nearly double the six-person rate. A cottage instead of a homestay room costs more: IDR 5,365,000 per person on the three-day trip with six sharing.
On the four-day trip the full ladder runs IDR 12,950,000 for one traveller, IDR 8,105,000 each for two, IDR 6,655,000 for three, IDR 5,775,000 for four, IDR 5,275,000 for five and IDR 4,720,000 for six. Outside the price are your flights, the hotel nights in Kendari and snorkel gear, which comes to about IDR 160,000 for four days if you rent it on the island.
Which length to book
The three-day Labengki Sombori trip is the short version. It gives Sombori one full day: Red Sand Beach, Allo Cave, Diamond Cave and the steep climb to Puncak Kayangan for the view everyone photographs.
Four days is the one we suggest most often. The four-day package keeps the Sombori day and adds the Labengki side, with the Blue Lagoon, the lighthouse and the Swimming Pool Cave, so the trip stops feeling like a march.
Five and six days add slack. The sea sets the day plan here, and when an afternoon turns rough the guides swap exposed stops for sheltered ones. On a longer trip that costs you nothing. On three days it can cost a headline sight.
Labengki and Sombori, Southeast Sulawesi
Four days, both islands done properly
A full day on Sombori for the caves and Puncak Kayangan, then a full day on Labengki for the Blue Lagoon, Twin Lagoon and the lighthouse. Pickup in Kendari at 08:00.
A Labengki Sombori tour, day by day
Day one is the crossing. We collect you in Kendari at 08:00, the boat leaves Tanasa at 09:00 and you check in on Labengki around 12:00. The afternoon is easy: Long Sand Beach at 15:00, a wide bank of white sand under leaning coconut palms, then a first snorkel in sheltered water at 16:00.
Day two belongs to Sombori. The boat crosses at 08:00 and reaches Red Sand Beach at 09:00 and Allo Cave at 10:00, a chamber at the waterline that you step into from the boat. Air Kiri Beach and Diamond Cave fill the rest of the morning. After lunch comes the climb to Puncak Kayangan, short and steep over sharp limestone, so wear shoes with grip.

On the three-day trip the last morning is a short circuit before the 11:30 crossing home: Twin Lagoon at 08:00, then Teluk Cinta, the heart-shaped bay, and the climb up Kimaboe Hill to look down on it. Tobelo Lake is on the list too, but it can only be reached at low tide, and the tide suits it roughly one week in four.
Labengki and Sombori, Southeast Sulawesi
Three days: Sombori, Kayangan and Teluk Cinta
Two nights on Labengki, one full day among the caves and viewpoints of Sombori, and the heart-shaped bay on the way home. Boat, rooms, three meals a day and entrance fees included.
What the longer Labengki packages add
The fourth day is spent on Labengki itself. Twin Lagoon is two pools linked inside the limestone, calm even when the open water is not. The Blue Lagoon is an enclosed basin below steep forested cliffs, and it is the best swim of the trip.

Five days add Mbokita, a Bajo village built over the water on stilts and the only real settlement on the route, along with the Priyanka snorkel spot and the Jellyfish Lagoon, where the number of stingless jellyfish varies by season. Six days reach Handprint Cave, a limestone wall of ochre hand stencils whose age has never been properly established.
Open trip or private trip
Ours are private by default. The boat, the guide and the itinerary are your group's, and if you would rather share the cost we try to pair you with another small group on your dates. We do not put you with strangers without asking.
Shared open trips sold by others are cheaper. In September 2026, public listings for three days from Kendari airport ran IDR 1,300,000 to 1,500,000 per person, sharing the boat with the whole group. Our Labengki and Sombori guide lists what to check before booking one.
What the rooms are like
Simple. Rooms are twin share with a shared bathroom, in a homestay or in a cottage a step above it. There is no air conditioning, and the electricity comes from a generator that runs from about 18:00 to 06:00. Phone signal is patchy on Labengki and mostly absent around Sombori. Sombori has no accommodation at all, so every night is spent on Labengki.

Arrive in Kendari the night before
Pickup is at 08:00, and no same-day flight connection makes it. Sleep in Kendari the night before the trip, and again after it if your onward flight matters, because the return crossing depends on the sea.
What is included
Wooden boat transport for the whole trip, accommodation on Labengki, three meals a day while island hopping, drinking water, entrance fees at every stop, an English or Indonesian speaking guide, and trip photos and video.
Not included: flights to Kendari, a hotel in Kendari before or after, and snorkel gear, which rents for about IDR 40,000 a day on Labengki. If Labengki is one stop on a longer route, our Sulawesi travel guide shows how the island fits together.
Deposit, payment and cancellation
A deposit confirms the trip and the balance is due before it starts. Cancel 14 days or more before the start date and everything you have paid is refunded. From 7 to 13 days ahead the refund is 50%, and inside 7 days there is none. If we have to cancel, you choose a new date or take a full refund.
Who should not book this trip
People who need air conditioning, guaranteed hot water or power in the daytime. The generator runs only at night, and anyone expecting a resort will be disappointed. You should also be comfortable in open water: most snorkeling is shallow and sheltered inside the lagoons, but some outer sites have current. Non-swimmers can still do the caves, the viewpoints and the beaches.
The sea has the last word. The open-water run from Tanasa is the longest exposed stretch of the trip, and wind matters there as much as rain. Our crew have not had a month when trips could not run at all, though in the wet season the guides swap exposed stops for sheltered ones.
Booking a Labengki Sombori tour
Send your dates and the number of travellers. We quote the rate for your exact group size and tell you plainly what the sea usually does that month. Start with a trip request here, and buy flights to Kendari once the boat is confirmed.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Labengki Sombori tour cost?
From IDR 4,100,000 (about $230) per person for three days and two nights with six travellers sharing, up to IDR 6,395,000 for six days. Smaller groups pay more each: two people pay IDR 7,150,000 each for three days. Flights to Kendari and a hotel there are extra.
How many days do you need for Labengki and Sombori?
Three days covers the headline sights with one full day on Sombori. Four days is what we suggest most often, because it adds a full Labengki day with the Blue Lagoon and the lighthouse. Five or six days add slack for weather and reach the Five Lagoons.
Is there an open trip to Labengki?
Yes, from other sellers: in September 2026 public open-trip listings for three days from Kendari airport ran IDR 1,300,000 to 1,500,000 per person. Our trips are private by default, and on request we try to pair you with another small group to share the cost.
Where do you sleep on a Labengki Sombori tour?
On Labengki every night, since Sombori has no accommodation. Rooms are twin share with a shared bathroom, in a homestay or a cottage a step above it. There is no air conditioning, and generator power runs from about 18:00 to 06:00 only.
How do you get to Labengki and Sombori?
Fly to Kendari (KDI) in Southeast Sulawesi, usually through Makassar, and arrive the night before. We collect you at 08:00, drive 40 minutes to Tanasa Port and cross by wooden boat in about two and a half hours. No same-day flight connection works.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer for a Labengki Sombori tour?
You should be comfortable in open water. Most snorkeling is shallow and sheltered inside the lagoons, and buoyancy aids are available, but some outer sites have current and the boat drops you in deeper water. Non-swimmers can still do the caves, the viewpoints and the beaches.
